What We Do (Continued)

blueEnergy is Committed to Long-Term Results.

blueEnergy’s systems are implemented using a variety of models, each of which can be characterized along the following dimensions: Location (urban, semi-urban, rural), constituency served (private, public), ownership (blueEnergy, private, public), management/operation (blueEnergy, private, public), and physical configuration (battery charging station, fixed battery bank, dual-use). Each electrification scenario is best served by a particular combination of these dimensions and blueEnergy works with each beneficiary and project funder to select the most appropriate model in each case.
Other development organizations and government bodies often have a transient interest in energy services and lack expertise in the complicated field of rural electrification. This often leads to install-and-go scenarios, where projects are left without any sustainable operation and maintenance plans in place. blueEnergy brings to the table expertise, persistence, and a long-term commitment to working with project beneficiaries to develop the social and financial institutions needed to deliver lasting energy services.
Today blueEnergy is a multi-national organization with offices in Paris, San Francisco, Managua (Nicaragua) and Bluefields (Nicaragua). blueEnergy has built and installed 8 energy systems in 6 communities on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua where it continues to hone its model so that it can be taken abroad to other regions of the world.
