Hugh Piggott: Hugh Piggott is the guru of small-scale, do-it-yourself wind power. With over two decades of experience in designing, building and using small wind turbines, his work has inspired thousands around the globe. Hugh is the designer of the original turbine used by blueEnergy and has advised members of the blueEnergy team since before blueEnergy came into existence.
Dan Bartmann: Dan Bartmann is the founder and CEO of ForceField, a company that sells wind turbine materials and runs an online community devoted to do-it-yourself wind power. He lives high up in the mountains west of Fort Collins, Colorado, with wife Michelle and daughter Maya. Dan and his associates at ForceField have been supporting blueEnergy's efforts since early 2004.
Tom Mast: Tom Mast is a retired mechanical engineer with masters degrees in engineering and business.  His career was in managing manufacturing and engineering operations.  A couple of years ago, he wrote the book “Over a Barrel: A Simple Guide to the Oil Shortage”, which presented an overview of what he has learned through his interested in energy and the tightening supplies of oil. Tom has been advising blueEnergy on its manufacturing operations in Nicaragua since August 2007.
Christian Casillas: Christian Casillas joined blueEnergy in December 2005 and spent 7 months in Nicaragua heading blueEnergy's turbine testing and characterization initiative. He now advises blueEnergy on figerglass blade construction and various turbine testing issues. Christian holds a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from Harvard and a master's in applied math from Johns Hopkins. He spent several years doing oceanic and atmospheric research at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland before joining the US Peace Corps to teach math and science in rural Namibia, where he became interested in renewable energy. Prior to joining blueEnergy he worked as an engineer on renewable energy projects in New Mexico; he is now a doctoral student with the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley.
Darin Bird: Darin Bird advises blueEnergy's manufacturing processes and brings to the organization 22 years of experience building and repairing anything that rolls, flies, or floats. After completing the Autobody, Automotive, and Marine Technology Program at the Belz Institute, he channeled his creative passion and entrepreneurial spirit into his own business, which he has operated for 14 years. His business performs cosmetic and mechanical restorations of automobiles; construction, modification, and repair of marine vessels; construction and maintenance of off-road racing machines; and repair and restoration of aircraft. Darin is most proud of his work designing and constructing a 37’ yacht.
Alex (Sandy) Pentland: Prof. Alex (Sandy) Pentland is a pioneer in wearable computers, health systems, smart environments, and technology for developing countries. He is one of the most-cited computer scientists in the world. Sandy is a co-founder of the Wearable Computing research community, the Center for Future Health, the international Digital Nations Consortium, and was the founding director of the Media Lab Asia. He was formerly the Academic Head of the MIT Media Laboratory, and is the Toshiba Professor of Media Arts and Sciences. Sandy has won numerous international awards in the Arts, Sciences and Engineering and was chosen by Newsweek as one of the 100 Americans most likely to shape the next century. He currently directs the Human Dynamics research group at the MIT Media Lab.
Ashley Rupp: Ashley Rupp attended Fordham University Law School in New York City where she was a Notes & Articles Editor on the Fordham Law Review and a volunteer at the Legal Aid Society’s Capital division. She graduated in May 2004 and began a Federal Judicial Clerkship for the Honorable Judge Leisure in the Southern District of New York. Before law school, Ashley attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she obtained Bachelor of the Arts degrees in both Rhetoric & Political Science. Ashley now works for Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer P.C and her non-professional pursuits include urban mountain biking through the mean streets of New York City, utilizing her own alternative energy resource.
