Mathias Craig, Chairman: Mathias Craig started blueEnergy as a nonprofit corporation in late 2003. He provides the organization with administrative, programmatic and fundraising leadership. Mathias has over seven years of involvement in wind energy and has significant living experience throughout Latin America. He has spent a considerable amount of time in Nicaragua and has strong ties to the peoples of the Caribbean Coast. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mathias is fluent in English, French and Spanish. |

Lâl Marandin: Lâl Marandin led the organization’s business development operations in Nicaragua in 2004 as Associate Director before joining blueEnergy’s Board of Directors in 2005. He is a co-founder and the acting President of blueEnergy France (ER&DE). Lâl was a commanding officer in the Paris Fire Brigade (France), has worked as an advisor in the economic division of the French Embassy in Mexico, and joined the French Air Force in 2002. He currently works in the Advanced Studies Department of the French Department of Defense. He holds a Master of Science in Civil and Aeronautical Engineering from the “Ecole Polytechnique” in Paris and National Air and Space School in Toulouse, France, and a Master of Science in Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics from the University of Toulouse, France. Lâl is fluent in French, English and Spanish and proficient in German an Mandarin. |

Colette Grinevald: Colette Grinevald is a linguistics professor at the Université Lyon2, in Lyon, France, and is a researcher of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Laboratoire Dynamique du Language Lyon2, in Lyon, France. She specializes in the grammatical description of Amerindian languages and fieldwork for the description of endangered languages. Colette has done extensive fieldwork in Central America, and is well known for her work on Rama, a very endangered Chibchan language of Nicaragua. Colette has published dozens of articles in her areas of specialization and lectures on these topics throughout the world. |

Matt Flannery: Matt is the Co-founder and CEO of Kiva a revolutionary peer-to-peer lending website that allows individuals to loan money to small business in the developing world, thereby empowering them to lift themselves out of poverty. Matt is a micro-finance expert and has been advising blueEnergy since early May 2006. |

Maricela Kauffman: Maricela is a researcher and consultant in the cultural and artistic productions of Central America. She has specific experience working with indigenous and afro-descendent populations and their contributions to multicultural societies. Maricela has also worked on the documentation and archiving of endangered languages and has worked on the visual arts of Central America as an art historian. A native Nicaraguan, she has been a key cultural advisor to blueEnergy since its inception. |
